The Indian aviation industry is growing every month, as per a recent report by OAG’s latest airline schedules, the analysis reveals that airlines around the world plan to operate 2,553,657 flights throughout May 2008. There will be 40,015 more worldwide operations compared with May 2007 resulting in a two per cent growth. The total number of available seats for this month of May will also climb to 306,948,147, up from 296,873,220 (3 per cent) in the same month last year. This growth is also evident in India with positive numbers emerging from all major airports be it Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkatta and Chennai. All the airports have witnessed a rise in numbers of seats right from 2001 till 2008. It is not just seat capacity but overall operations that are witnessing a surge.
